Eric Paul Erickson’s Truth Premiers On Fearless

Truth is a new release drama written, directed, (co-executive) produced by, and starring Eric Paul Erickson (Dam Sharks, The Last Ship, Snake Outta Compton) and Rachel Alig (At Granny’s House, Shadows, The Cleaning Lady). It is produced by Viking Dog Films, which was founded by Erickson.

As a long and bloody revolution winds down, former army officer Xavier Faraday has spent countless days incarcerated. After the fall of his government to the rebels, he was captured and imprisoned. Xavier had resigned himself to his fate, until he is dragged from his cell and ushered into a dark holding room.  Xavier is restrained opposite Maria Ramses, his appointed representative for the fledgling government’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee. She offers him a chance at amnesty if he will detail his time at a notorious internment camp. After first turning down the offer, Xavier reluctantly agrees. Slowly, Maria peels away the layers of the man’s life, family and military career, learning about the journey that brought Xavier to this point. He details his time at the camp, as well as how he survived the civil war, but underneath, Xavier is hiding something. But so is Maria.

Truth is the winner of multiple awards including: Best Feature Worldwide Women's Film Festival, Best Director Silver State Film Festival, Best Director Marina del Rey Film Festival, Best Actor Laughlin International Film Festival, Best Actress Laughlin International Film Festival and Best Storytelling Laughlin International Film Festival.

Truth looks set to a fantastic cat-and-mouse game between Xaviar (Erickson) and Maria (Alig), with both being more than meets the eye. I, for one, cannot wait to get caught up in the interrogation and see just what lies beneath the surface of both of them. Be sure to look out for my review in the coming days.

Truth was released on streaming site Fearless on Friday, 29th May. You can sign up for a 2-week free trial. Fearless specializes in showing independent films, shorts and series. It will be coming soon to Digital Download, VOD and DVD. I’ll be updating as and when I know more. You can also keep up-to-date with Viking Dog Films for the latest news on Truth and more of their projects.
