Filmmaker Michael Matteo Rossi Signs With Hg5 Entertainment

Michael Matteo Rossi is a filmmaker with a genuine passion and dedication for his craft that shines through in everything that he creates. Rossi has already proven himself as a visionary and talented writer/director/producer with his previous work that includes Misogynist (2015), Sable (2017), Chase (2019) as well as many other films, shorts and series with producing, acting, writing and casting credits, across the board. There is no stopping the Rossi train, that gains momentum and prominence with every new project that he delivers.

Now, fresh off the back of writing and directing his latest two action thrillers Shadows and The Handler, the unstoppable Michael Matteo Rossi has been signed to Los Angeles based talent management production company Hg5 Entertainment in writing and directing, adding to their already impressive list of clients. This is great news for Rossi, and cements his status as a fantastic filmmaker whose unwavering drive will surely bring him rewarded and continued success throughout his future career.

Shadows stars Francis Capra (Veronica Mars: The Movie - 2014, iZombie - 2018-2019), Krista Allen (The Perfect Mother - 2018, The Wrong Stepfather - 2020), and David Labrava (Sons of Anarchy - 2008-2014) and tells the story of a young low-level drug dealer who is reunited with his estranged mom and uncle to protect him when a ruthless drug kingpin puts a hit on him.

Shadows was the Official Selection at the Universe Multicultural Film Festival, in which Rossi won ‘Best Director’. Yet another string to his bow and deserved recognition for his work.

Take a look at the official trailer for Shadows.

Rossi’s latest action extravaganza, The Handler, sees ex-marine Ryker Dune (played by Chris Levine) go up against a team of mercenaries who are sent to kill him, when he seeks refuge in a not so very safe house, after he throws a job. Levine is known for his work on Blake and Shelley (2015) and I Hate kids (2019), amongst others, and looks sure to show himself as an action star badass, and I can not wait to see him in action, kicking all kinds of mercenary arse. Throughout filming, Michael Matteo Rossi has posted a few behind-the-scenes clips, giving us just a tease of what we can expect to see, and it looks like The Handler is going to be pretty full-on, with Matt Hakan Erderms serving as stunt coordinator.

The Handler also stars Rachel Alig (The Bet - 2019, Truth - 2020, Shadows - 2020), Tyrone Magnus (Dragon Ball Fusions - 2016), Londyn - 2018), Kelly Pantaleoni (Everyday Lies - 2014, Fall Into Me - 2016), and Maddison Bulllock (Westworld - 2016, 13 Reasons Why - 2019).

Screen Nut will keep you up-to-date with all the latest news on Shadows, The Handler and any other of Rossi’s upcoming projects as and when it becomes available, so keep checking in with us. Until then, we would like to send our congratulations to Michael Matteo Rossi, and we wish you all the best for your unequivocal future success.
